Course Concept

Our international postgraduate programme ‘Information and Communications Engineering (ICE)’ is an accredited university Master degree course (MSc) taught in English that provides a superior standard of education designed for engineering graduates who wish to obtain additional expertise and qualification in the field of information and communications engineering.

As a good Master programme should offer you as much flexibility as possible to tailor your education to your career objectives, ICE is based on a modular structure and combines the theoretical elements of a conventional Master of Science (MSc) course with practical, application-oriented training elements, which are the trade mark of the German University of Applied Sciences system.

Our Master degree course consists of a core programme, taken by all participants, and a range of specialist and elective courses. You will choose your courses from a list of options designed to address both breadth and depth in each subject case and provide you with a matrix of opportunities on which you can build the Master degree most suited to your needs. All courses are designed to integrate theory and practice and to inform you of the latest developments. The final element of the Master course focuses on a major project that provides an opportunity to put your skills into practice and develop your engineering capabilities.

In order to complete the postgraduate course in 3 semesters (full-time), the University of Applied Sciences  Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (formerly Fachhochschule Giessen-Friedberg) offers a package of special support measures available for Master students such as close contact with lecturers, feedback and study support, tutors, small work groups, and high quality modern laboratory equipment, which are all intended to ensure our students obtain the MSc degree in the allotted time.
